Scares That Care ‘Halloween In July’ Charity 5K & Kids Trick-Or-Trot Fun Run***

Scares That Care 5K (7 p.m. START) and Kids Trick-Or-Trot Fun Run (6:30 p.m.)

In partnership with mettleevents.com, we are back to host our 2nd annual 5K race during Scares That Care Charity Weekend 4! It’s Halloween in July and costumes are welcome! Custom race performance T-Shirts for all 5K participants and Treat Bags for all Kids on the Fun Run! Finisher medals for ALL! (See below). Race registration may be accessed by clicking HERE or on the link above.

***Please note that registration fee(s) paid for participation in the 5K and Kids Fun Run DO NOT include entrance to the charity weekend event.

Prop Decoration Contest All Weekend
Help us “set the scene” for this year’s event! Build or modify a prop to be put on display in our promenade.
This is a great opportunity to test out a new technique or pull out an old favorite item you might have created. We will showcase the props in the main promenade of the event. Kids Zone (Room J) 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Please join us for the first ever “kids zone” portion of this year’s event! Children under the age of 16, accompanied by a parent or guardian, will have their own space to watch movies, read books, play board games or dress up, color, do crafts, and have fun at the selfie station. Please note that this is NOT a babysitting service and adults will be responsible for the children they bring into the room. The Kids Zone will feature several areas for children, tweens and teens.

Escape Room (Room 15) Hours: 5:00pm – 10:00pm
The Trials of Dagon: Innsmouths’ Revenge – Two years ago, the US government raided and destroyed an underwater city off the coast of Innsmouth, halting a horrendous take over planned by its inhabitants. Innsmouth, practically abandoned, has since attracted the curious and the fanatical from around the world. Strange happenings have been reported at the old Innsmouth lodge, infamous for its occult activity; Are you bold enough to enter its doors?

This Escape Room experience is based on the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, “The Shadow over Innsmouth” FREE for all Scares That Care attendees, but a suggested (not required) donation is welcomed. Escape Room presented by Meg C Design.

Costume Contest (Auditorium) – 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Scares That Care Costume Contest Rules HERE Only one member of a group entry needs to register, but the group will compete as a single entry. Once registration has been closed and entry ballots have gone out to print, there can be no changes or additions, NO EXCEPTIONS. Participant sign up and further details are available at Count Gore DeVol’s table in the Celebrity room BEFORE 5:00pm on Saturday.

Doors open Saturday at 11:30PM with the show starting at Midnight… ish in the main theater.
$5 goodie bags for you fine two bit folks will be sold, on a first come, first serve until it’s all drained out.
Rules: No throwing water… we’ll all be wet enough.
We have enough (goodie) bags… so leave yours at home. Only the pre-corrupted, non-prudish or willing virgins over 18 years old will be allowed in the lab.

Kid’s Zombie Hunt
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: It seems the Doubletree By Hilton has a small problem with a zombie infestation! We are asking for the help of children 12 and under, to find and exterminate these zombies! (Don’t worry, parents – these are slower than Romero zombies!) Nerf guns and a Guide will be provided to teams of eight kids at a time. Please meet at the Kids Zone, Room J.
